Birthday Paper Cards - Why You Love Receiving Birthday Cards in the Mail

Birthday cards are bought at retail, printed with your computer, or hand made.
The nice thing about paper cards is you can save them and re read them even years later.  Taking the time to shop for the most meaningful card says you really care.
Perhaps it is a throwback to childhood and feeling excited when the mailman delivered something bearing just your name. Not your parents' names, not your brother's or sister's name beside yours, but your name alone! Different than any other time of year, the envelope and its contents arrived in recognition of that all-important day, your birthday. The fact that a piece of mail was uniquely yours might even have been more important than the birthday greetings inside. Just the same, the idea that happy wishes just for you made their way to the family mailbox was special. Additional fun came from counting how many "Happy Birthday" cards came your way.

Not a child any longer and increasingly accustomed to the postman delivering bills and advertising almost always in your name, it might be even be more appealing now to receive birthday greetings by mail. Furthermore, it's interesting to observe who remembered to send birthday wishes your way via the traditional route of buying/sending a tangible card instead of an e-card or note. With today's hectic pace, that might also signify more than trivial gifts purchased by others on last-minute guilty impulse.

Moreover, for many adults removed by distance from close family and friends, birthday quotes in cards that can be displayed around one's home are a reminder that, even without a party and gifts, what matters most is the thought. A birthday is the perfect time to let someone know they're thought about, especially across the miles. And a card saying "Happy Birthday" is far more personal than something sent electronically. With computers related to work or a significant part of the “daily grind,” birthday quotes viewed on-screen aren't as memorable.
One significant characteristic of currently available birthday greetings is their variety. Musical or talking messages, and inspirational, arty, or hilarious birthday wishes with pop-out visuals and designs for every imaginable lifestyle await being sent in equally interesting envelopes. Tall and thin, tiny, or beautifully fashioned, each card represents the sender's personal intent. With the addition of a photo or handwritten note, the birthday quotes become even more momentous.
So who needs a party when it's so much fun to receive birthday cards in the mail? Perhaps the old tradition of sending and receiving greetings to commemorate yet another year's passing endures for a reason. It is why you love receiving cards in the mail, treasures to be held in hand and close to the heart. Displayed as a tribute to you and only you, they can be easily kept with no chance of deletion, a reminder of those who cared enough to send them. Accordingly, one will likely feel inspired to remember others on their special day too, via nothing less than the mail!
